Central Wyoming College covers employees working in a hazardous occupation as defined by the State of Wyoming through the State of Wyoming Workers’ Compensation Plan.
The college may use a third party vendor to cover employees NOT working in a hazardous position. The procedure steward will list the current status for coverage of such employees in the associated process for this procedure.
Supervisors shall notify the Human Resources office in the event of a work related injury of any employee. For the purposes of this procedure, work-related injury is as defined by US OSHA regulation
Any workplace injury must be reported to the employee’s supervisor or to the HR department within three business days of the injury. Extensions to this deadline are noted in the associated process for this procedure. If reported to the supervisor, the supervisor must immediately report it to HR. Because there are serious technical concerns regarding worker’s compensation insurance, it is always in the best interest of the employee to make this report as soon as possible.
Injury report forms are available from Human Resources as noted in the associated process for this procedure.
Additional information regarding injury reporting and processing can be found in the Human Resources office or from the Wyoming Workers’ Safety and Compensation Division
