The following caps shall apply to vertical movement steps:

Bachelors + 15	15
Masters+ 0	18
Masters+ 15	20
Masters+ 30	22
Masters+ 45	24
Doctorate	26

PROCEDURE:

1. College teaching or work in primary area of responsibility at CWC: 1 step per year
2. College teaching at a college or university other than CWC, or industrial, professional, or military experience which is directly related to the instructional area or primary area of responsibility: 1 step per year up to five years
3. Elementary teaching or secondary teaching which is not related to instructional area or primary area of responsibility: 1 step for 2 years (Limit 2 steps)
4. Secondary teaching which is related to instructional area or primary area of responsibility:  1 step per year (Limit 4 steps)
5. Graduate assistant:  1 step for 2 years (Limit one step per advanced degree)
6. Documented part-time college teaching: 1 step for 30 semester hours (Limit criterion same as 2. above).
