CWC recognizes the value of a well educated faculty. Faculty who achieve graduate credit under an approved education plan may be eligible to move horizontally on the faculty salary schedule per the following procedures.

In the fiscal year following initial date of hire, returning faculty are eligible to apply for educational advancement under an approved education plan.

An education plan must include specific program of study information and should be relevant to the primary area of responsibility for which the faculty member is employed. An education plan form is available from the Vice President’s office or Human Resources.

Educational advancement is made in accordance with the columns defined the faculty salary schedule.

Excepting employee tuition scholarships and sabbatical salaries, educational  advancement is not available for course work financially assisted by the college (books, materials, travel, tuition, fees, meals, supplies and educational release time).

In order to receive the educational advancement salary adjustment:
  1. The faculty member must submit an educational plan to their supervisor for approval prior to coursework beginning including a timeline for the plan’s anticipated completion.
  2. The supervisor will then submit the plan through the levels of management to the Director of Human Resources seeking approval.
  3. Upon completion of the approved educational plan satisfying the next column on the salary schedule, the faculty member must send an official transcript to Human Resources within 90 calendar days.
  4. The salary adjustment becomes effective with the start of the next pay period after receipt by Human Resources of the official transcript.
